April 2009 Calendar

Celebrate Georgia’s renaissance

Yes! Spring is in the air. The dogwoods are in bloom, and gardens all over Georgia are bursting with the vibrant colors of the season. Take a moment to relish lush private grounds, and welcome the return of flowering perennials at one of many garden shows going on this month.

Experience the history and distinctive allure of Savannah’s fertile landscape at the Savannah Garden Exposition. The open-air market promises to offer everything you need to create that magical, Southern charm in your own back yard. Take advantage of the walking tours amid azaleas resplendent with color, and stroll beneath oak trees swathed in Spanish moss.

In conjunction with the exposition, the Garden Club of Savannah will present the North of Gaston Street (NOGS) Tour of Hidden Gardens, which offers a unique opportunity to delve into the private home gardens of downtown Savannah. The event runs April 18-19 in Savannah.
