Approximately 60 works of art are on view, representing a wide range of artistic styles and mediums, including sculptures and displays crafted from objects found around the prison. The sale of these works benefits Heartbound’s Little Readers Book Club, which allows children of incarcerated parents to see and hear their parent reading to them via DVD. “Art from the Inside” is the only annual exhibition of art by prisoners in the state of Georgia.

Rock City's Rocktober Fest

Rock City’s Rocktoberfest runs Saturdays and Sundays in October (Oct. 2 through Oct.31), from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Get in touch with Rock City’s German heritage during the 15th annual Rocktoberfest. Rock City Square will be transformed for a celebration of harvests and fall foliage. This premiere autumn festival includes German music with live performances by the Wurstbrats and Musik Miesters. Other offerings returning this year are the Rock City Raptors birds of prey shows. IK The Troll King, Jerry the Mime and Caricature Artist Dennis Hart! Step into German culture as we celebrate and honor our founder Frieda Utermoehlen Carter’s heritage, with German food and fun for the whole family. The Marietta Museum of History will be hosting its monthly Pop-In event on Saturday, Oct.16 from 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Pop-Ins provide children and their families the opportunity to interact with the Museum through themed activities and crafts. Join us in October for crafts and activities geared towards various cultures in Cobb county; currently these will be "Make and Take" so families may enjoy them at home while the Museum adheres to current health guidelines. Our "cultures of Cobb” crafts are included with admission! The Museum’s new health policies and procedures are posted on our website. Admission to the Museum during the Pop-In will be $5 per person with a family cap of $20!

Downtown Dublin Farmers Market

Located on Madison Street in Downtown Dublin, the Market on Madison is a premier open-air venue with a weekly offering of local and organic produce, as well as artisan foods, farm-raised eggs, and raw honey each Saturday morning 7:30 AM until 12:30 PM from April through October. Patrons will also find a variety of handmade crafts and original art. Over the last eight seasons, Dublin’s farmers market has experienced much growth, noting more than 30 vendors each week and 350 patrons during peak produce season.

As one of the newest self guided tours in Forsyth, this African American Heritage Guide takes you through a journey of African American history throughout Monroe County. This self-guided tour is meant to be a starting point in exploring the journey of African Americans in our community. It contains some brief biographical information on those who shaped our history; a timeline critical to putting events into context; and a brief driving tour to link people and places.
