Meet the Authors / Booksigning

Scenic Southwest Georgia
Book Signing: 4 historical fiction/history books with 4 published authors. Historical fiction authors Henry Duggan, Mike Fowler and Jay Beck, plus Jake & Susan Talley (historical books), will be at the Northwest Library on Saturday, December 3rd with their latest releases and some previous books too. Come by and have your book signed, purchase a book, and/or meet with local authors.

Downtown Dublin Christmas Parade

Add a touch of wonder and delight to your holiday season with the The Exchange Club of Dublin’s annual Christmas Parade which stretches over a mile through the Bellevue and Downtown Historic Districts. All will be breathless with anticipation waiting for Santa to make his appearance, and there will be plenty of magical floats, music, dancers and twirlers animated with Christmas joy ahead of the big man floating down Jackson Street. Watch is delight from 2 PM to 4 PM. Jolly your way to Christmas Made at the Market in Downtown Dublin GA before or after the parade for your holiday shopping!

Believe in the magic of Christmas as you watch lighted parade floats, decorated vehicles, marching bands and groups and maybe even Santa will show up in his sleigh to delight all who come out to start the holiday season with friends and family. The parade starts at 6 p.m. in front of Holt's Bakery and travels along Peterson Avenue to South Georgia State College. Kids of all ages will love the lights and sounds of Christmas in South Georgia.

Handmade, homemade & homegrown items on display and for sale the first Saturday of each month March-December. 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Visit the market then continue your stroll through Downtown Douglas for lots of shopping, antiques and delicious restaurants. First Saturdays almost always mean sales, promotions and extended hours.

Christmas on Green Street

Christmas on Green Street is back in 2022! This magical event includes a parade of antique cars, holiday floats, marching bands, and community groups starting at the Gainesville Civic Center and continuing all the way down Green Street. Following the parade, Green Street will remain closed while people visit the historic homes and enjoy musical groups performing on front porches, strolling magicians, face painters, balloon artists, storyteller, jugglers, Santa Claus, miniature train rides, and food trucks. The night will end with the traditional lighting of the Rotary Tree at 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Green Street and West Academy Street. The 36th Annual Victorian Christmas will take you back in time to Thomasville’s Victorian past. Stroll the bricks and be entertained by performers, carolers and musicians. Shop, dine and welcome the holiday season in Downtown Thomasville! Victorian Christmas is a two-night event, and both nights will feature: live reindeer, carriage rides, a live nativity presented by First Baptist Church, visits with St. Nick, marshmallow toasting, chestnut roasting, live entertainment on The Ritz Amphitheater stage, a delicious variety of food from vendors ...and more! Unless noted, all activities and attractions are free.

Calhoun's Christmas Parade of Lights

Get in the holiday spirit with Calhoun's Annual Christmas Parade of Lights (7 pm). This year's theme is "Christmas In Candy Land." The parade will feature a wide variety of floats, bands, vintage cars, tractors and more including Santa! Local choruses will begin caroling at 6:30 p.m. along the parade route.

Christmas on the River

Celebrate the holidays along Savannah’s Waterfront during Christmas on the River. This three-day festival takes place from Friday, December 9 through Sunday, December 11 and will feature live performances, merry melodies and holiday cheer. Dance and music fill the weekend with Christmas performances. In addition, our young patrons will be able to visit with Santa who is taking some time away from his busy schedule to join us on the waterfront. The highlight of the festival is the annual Lighted Christmas Parade on Saturday evening, December 10th. The parade begins at the West end of River Street at 5:30 pm and continues to the East end, then winds its way through downtown Savannah.
