As Hog-eyed Man, Jason Cade and Rob McMaken have developed a compelling approach to the archaic fiddle traditions of the Southern Appalachians. Their most recent release "Across the Sea" finds the duo teaming up with friends in a transatlantic collaboration that charts the many paths that traditional music can follow when it crosses oceans and passes through generations.
Cade, whose fiddling has won the coveted blue ribbon at Clifftop, learned much of his music in Celo, N.C. from neighbors like Bruce Greene, the legendary tune-collector.
McMaken, a north Georgia native who honed his chops busking with a mandolin in New Orleans, is one of today’s leading mountain dulcimer players.
This compelling performance will feature friends and special guests from "Across the Sea" joining on clawhammer banjo, bouzouki, guitar and bodhran.
The concert will start at 7:30 p.m.
The concert is free and open to the public
