John Coltrane: The Beauty of Struggle

Trane's music directly shaped R&B, soul, and eventually hip-hop. Learn how and why, while also being inspired by his battle to overcome early childhood trauma and missed opportunities to create some of the most indelible and important music of the 20th century.

What is the Jazz Legacy Project?

Created in 2015 after an epiphany Justin Varnes had while teaching Jazz History at Georgia State University, the JLP has an ongoing residency at the Velvet Note jazz club in Atlanta, where they have been selling out their performances for six years and counting.
