Event Description

Trinity Presbyterian Church of Atlanta will host acclaimed New York Times bestselling author Anne Lamott on Thursday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m., with a book signing to follow. Trinity’s Rosemary Kittrell Memorial Lectureship Fund, which brings prominent thinkers and theologians to examine faith's role in the world, is sponsoring the event.

The annual event is free and open to the public.  Advance tickets must be reserved beginning Sept. 16 at Eventbrite.

Lamott’s lecture will chronicle thoughts and lessons from her 2024 No. 1 New York Times bestseller, "Somehow: Thoughts on Love." In her 20th book, Lamott delves into the transformative power of love in our lives: how it surprises us, forces us to confront uncomfortable truths, reminds us of our humanity, and guides us forward.

Lamott is the author of 20 books, including New York Times bestsellers "Hallelujah Anyway," "Help, Thanks, Wow" and "Dust, Night, Dawn." She has been honored with a Guggenheim Fellowship and has taught at UC Davis.  Lamott is an inductee to the California Hall of Fame and a columnist in the Washington Post.

The lecture series is made possible through an endowed fund established by the estate of Rosemary Kittrell, a well-regarded Atlanta attorney and a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church for 43 years.

Parking at the church is free.
