Independence Day Weekend "Ride the Rails and Model Railroad Open House Event" Saturday and Sunday, July 1 and 2. Enjoy a 40-minute, 5-mile round-trip ride in open-air railroad motor cars departing the Historic Depot, noon through 4 p.m., traveling through the Iron Bridge over the beautiful Toccoa River, climbing the grade out of the river valley to Murphy Junction and then returning to the depot to view the extensive museum-quality, double-deck model railroad representing the L&N railroad in the Tri-State area, circa 1948-52. Free parking. Free viewing of Model RR. Motor Car Ride: Donation $15 adults 18+. Youths 3-12 are $5. Model Railroad is accessible. Ride may be accessible depending on rider's ability to transfer.
