Swim Across America Atlanta

Event Region
Event Description

Join Swim Across America Atlanta on Saturday, Sept. 23, for the 11th annual open water swim to make waves to fight cancer. Each year, Swim Across America Atlanta attracts more than 1,000 swimmers, volunteers, spectators and supporters, as well as Olympians, who participate in this family fun event at a Lake Lanier Olympic Park. Land and water volunteers are needed in addition to swimmers.

Established in 2013, Swim Across America Atlanta has donated nearly $3 million to its local beneficiary the Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Cancer remains the leading cause of death by illness for children. Despite this, childhood cancer research is consistently underfunded by the federal government and it is often up to nonprofits like Swim Across America to raise crucial funds for cancer research. Register to swim or volunteer or donate at swimacrossamerica.org/atlanta.
