UNG Annual Pops Concerts

The UNG Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band Present an Outdoor Concert on the Drill Field On Saturday, April 15, 2023, the UNG Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band will present an afternoon of music representing a wide variety of composers and styles. Highlights of the program include A Bernstein Tribute, two pieces by Georgia native Kataj Copely, and El Relicario. Also on the program is a beautiful arrangement of “Someone to Watch Over Me” by George Gershwin arranged for trumpet and winds. This piece will feature UNG Professor of Trumpet, Michael Brown. Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, snacks, and drinks. Members of the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic band are UNG undergraduates representing a wide variety of majors. Both ensembles are under the direction of Dr. J. Ashley Jarrell. Admission is free for this 2:00 p.m. concert which will take place at the Drill Field on the Dahlonega Campus. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held in Memorial Gym.
