First Friday jazzes up the Market on Madison each first Friday, Spring and Fall, beginning at 6 p.m. with free admission, so bring the whole family! Fill up on a jazzy, bluesy serving of Savannah Gumbo from Gary Strickland!

Rock City celebrates its German heritage every Saturday and Sunday throughout October. The area’s premiere German festival offers live German music along with specialty German food. Watch Jerry the Mime entertain and get a free caricature drawing by artist Dennis Hart. Take a self-guided tour of the gardens during peak fall foliage and catch a Birds of Prey show featuring the amazing Rock City Raptors. Pumpkin painting is also available! Souvenir pink birdhouses and other merchandise can be purchased to help raise funds for the CHI Memorial Foundation scholarship. This event has been selected as a Top 20 Event for 2021 by Southeast Tourism Society!

Handmade, homemade & homegrown items on display and for sale the first Saturday of each month March-December. 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Visit the market then continue your stroll through Downtown Douglas for lots of shopping, antiques and delicious restaurants. First Saturdays almost always mean sales, promotions and extended hours.
- Historic HeartlandKids & Family
The NGLS is a non-profit miniature outdoor railroad club that takes riders along a scenic rail trail through the woods of Steeplechase Field at the Georgia International Horse Park. Trains will begin operation at 1 p.m., and conclude with the last train at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $2.00 per person. Run dates may be canceled due to inclement weather. - Magnolia MidlandsKids & FamilyThe Market on Madison is an open-air venue with a vast array of local and organic produce, as well as artisan foods, farm-raised eggs, and raw honey each Saturday morning 7:30 AM until 12:30 PM from April through October.

Join us in downtown Forsyth on the first Saturday of each month for our special 1st Saturday Shop Small event. Enjoy the sweet life in Forsyth and look for the shopping and dining specials sure to please! And don’t miss out on the special treat--Forsyth Mainstreet sponsors a free concert and food trucks on those first Saturday nights, May through August!

The Jekyll Island Club’s past comes alive in this after-dark experience with ghoulish and ghostly stories! Begin your experience at Mosaic, Jekyll Island Museum, where you’ll learn about the Gilded Age traditions of All Hallow’s Eve and pick up some treats. As you make your way by trolley to one of the island’s historic homes, hear the real paranormal experiences of current staff members working in the Historic District. Conclude the experience with a visit back in time to the Club era, where dearly departed former Club members will introduce you to some of the island’s ghastlier tales.

Airplanes, big machines and fun things! Experience a jam-packed day at Wheels & Wings and Other Fun Things on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the W. H. ‘Bud’ Barron Regional Airport in Dublin.
Admission is by donation. A $5 love offering is suggested, but not expected. Wheels and Wings and Other Fun Things is a benefit event for Kids Cup to raise funds, friends and awareness to all of Middle Georgia. Parking is free.
Kids Cup is a resource for foster and kinship families and other children in need. It provides newborns to teens with free clothing, shoes, baby gear, books, toys and school supplies in a cheerful, welcoming space for vulnerable children and families to shop (at no charge) while making new connections. Kid’s Cup is affiliated with Faith in Families Inc. and Widow’s Oil Ministry Inc.

From late September and through October, Haunted Montrose is celebrating years of striking fear into visitors' hearts. Located down a dark, deserted road, Haunted Montrose lures you in for a scare and fills your dreams with nightmares. Scaring begins at 7:30 p.m. for most days, with the exception of Saturday Oct. 7, 14 and 21, which will start at 6:30 p.m.

Join us to celebrate the 41st Annual Georgia Marble Festival! Come enjoy arts, crafts, music and performances on our Headliner and Performance Stages. Savor an array of your favorite festival foods. Take a quarry tour, watch live demonstrations of marble sculpting, chainsaw carving, caricature artistry and more! Fun for all ages in the free Kids Zone.

Fire up your appetite with a pig pickin’ oyster roast at Southern Pines Ag & Expo Center in Dublin on Saturday, October 7. Gates open at 4 p.m. for the 6th Annual Oyster Pig Roast, and food is served starting at 6 p.m. Fill up and dance to live music while the kids bounce away. All proceeds go to children fighting cancer. Adults: $25 Kids: $12.50

The Anchor of Hope Golf Tournament is hosted at River Forest in Forsyth on Columbus Day, Monday, Oct. 9, 2023. The proceeds from the tournament serve families facing developmental disabilities by funding a monthly Parents’ Night Out respite program, a supplemental scholarship financial aid program, a monthly parent support group and allows for the development of new programs to meet our community’s specific needs.

Take it easy when you head to Dublin for the Georgia Players Guild’s “To the Limit,” a tribute to the music of The Eagles, at Theatre Dublin on Friday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m.
General admission is $29. The VIP ticket package is $42 and includes early seating, a private pre-show mini concert, a signed poster and a chance to meet the band! Discounts are available for large groups.

Allied Arts will be hosting the opening reception for our "Haunted Milledgeville" exhibit on Friday, Oct. 13, from 6-8 p.m. You may come in costume if you wish! We'll have creepy artwork, some haunted history and Halloween-themed refreshments.
