From late September and through October, Haunted Montrose is celebrating years of striking fear into visitors' hearts. Located down a dark, deserted road, Haunted Montrose lures you in for a scare and fills your dreams with nightmares. Scaring begins at 7:30 p.m. for most days, with the exception of Saturday Oct. 7, 14 and 21, which will start at 6:30 p.m.

The Anchor of Hope Golf Tournament is hosted at River Forest in Forsyth on Columbus Day, Monday, Oct. 9, 2023. The proceeds from the tournament serve families facing developmental disabilities by funding a monthly Parents’ Night Out respite program, a supplemental scholarship financial aid program, a monthly parent support group and allows for the development of new programs to meet our community’s specific needs.

The Jekyll Island Club’s past comes alive in this after-dark experience with ghoulish and ghostly stories! Begin your experience at Mosaic, Jekyll Island Museum, where you’ll learn about the Gilded Age traditions of All Hallow’s Eve and pick up some treats. As you make your way by trolley to one of the island’s historic homes, hear the real paranormal experiences of current staff members working in the Historic District. Conclude the experience with a visit back in time to the Club era, where dearly departed former Club members will introduce you to some of the island’s ghastlier tales.

Take it easy when you head to Dublin for the Georgia Players Guild’s “To the Limit,” a tribute to the music of The Eagles, at Theatre Dublin on Friday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m.
General admission is $29. The VIP ticket package is $42 and includes early seating, a private pre-show mini concert, a signed poster and a chance to meet the band! Discounts are available for large groups.

Rock City celebrates its German heritage every Saturday and Sunday throughout October. The area’s premiere German festival offers live German music along with specialty German food. Watch Jerry the Mime entertain and get a free caricature drawing by artist Dennis Hart. Take a self-guided tour of the gardens during peak fall foliage and catch a Birds of Prey show featuring the amazing Rock City Raptors. Pumpkin painting is also available! Souvenir pink birdhouses and other merchandise can be purchased to help raise funds for the CHI Memorial Foundation scholarship. This event has been selected as a Top 20 Event for 2021 by Southeast Tourism Society!

Fall Weekend "Ride the Rails and Model Railroad Open House Event" Saturday and Sunday Oct. 14 and 15. Enjoy a 40-minute, 5-mile round-trip ride in open-air railroad motor cars departing the Historic Depot, noon through 4 p.m., traveling through the Iron Bridge over the beautiful Toccoa River, climbing the grade out of the river valley to Murphy Junction and then returning to the depot to view the extensive museum-quality, double-deck model railroad representing the L&N railroad in the Tri-State area, circa 1948-52. Free parking. Free viewing of Model RR. Motor Car Ride: Donation $15 adults 18+. Youths 3-12 are $5. Model Railroad is accessible. Ride may be accessible depending on rider's ability to transfer.
- -Northeast Georgia MountainsCraft FairThe New Salem Mountain Festival, born out of the potential for a grand celebration of human talents amidst nature’s splendor, will present the 49th annual arts and crafts show on October 14th & 15th of 2023, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Saturday, and 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Sunday. Our festival is always held on the second Saturday and Sunday of October. Autumn is quite evident as you become nestled in all its beauty while walking through the brilliant colored trees and breathing the cool crisp air in a beautiful woodland setting. The festival is a popular seasonal event attended by thousands of visitors each year. Comfortable clothing and shoes are recommended. Admission is $5 for adults, children 11 and under are free. Parking is free. Approximately 100 talented artists and craftsmen will be exhibiting this year. Each participant is carefully screened to assure good quality products. Exhibits will include pottery, paintings, furniture, wood turning, wood carving, stained glass, jewelry, candles, iron works, wreaths, baskets, leather, purses, quilts, throws, handmade soaps, dog accessories, scarves, needlework, clothing and accessories, fabrics, chimes, jellies, condiments and much more. The special exhibition indoors each year is “The Mountain Gallery”, which features some of the best works of each exhibitor. You will also be able to purchase these items. Local ladies will be demonstrating the age old art of quilting. The offering of good food for hungry people has become an important part of the festival and the New Salem United Methodist Church serves delicious home-cooked items. You will find a variety of other goodies throughout the grounds including: funnel cakes caramel apples nachos fudge peanut brittle cotton candy kettle corn boiled peanuts pork skins fried pickles fried Oreos drinks Live entertainment will be provided by a variety of groups. Door prizes, donated by the exhibitors, will be given away throughout each day and winners will be posted at the exit gate. The festival is sponsored by the New Salem Community Improvement Club, Inc., which is a non-profit organization and all proceeds benefit the New Salem Community Center and New Salem Fire and Rescue. For 48 years, the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association, a non-profit arts council, has provided a unique art experience through our Arts in the Park festival series in the Downtown City Park of Blue Ridge, Georgia. Whether your travel plans are in the spring or in the fall, these art festivals are fun for the whole family. Located at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, the Arts in the Park festival series draws in excess of 20,000 attendees annually and a wide array of artists and food vendors. With over 170+ artists, exhibitors and vendors booths, our visitors enjoy a variety of fine arts and fine crafts, demonstrations, food and much more.
The Arts in the Park festival series supports the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts council providing opportunities in the arts for the individual and serving as a catalyst for arts and economic development in our community.

The Taste & Brews Fall Festival is a must-attend event for foodies and beer lovers alike. With a variety of delicious food and drinks, this festival is sure to satisfy everyone's cravings. You will be able to indulge in Southern-style BBQ, Cajun cuisine and more.
The festival is also a chance to gather with friends and family, listen to live music, and enjoy the beautiful fall weather. The entertainment line up will feature regional and local acts. There will be plenty of activities for all ages, including a kid zone area, arts and crafts and a farmers market.
The Taste & Brews Fall Festival will showcase the rich and diverse culinary traditions of the region. Taste & Brews offers free admission, so it's perfect fall weekend getaway.

Blythe Fever Festival, Saturday Oct. 14, 2023, Blythe City Hall parking lot and surrounding grounds (294 Church Street).
The annual festival begins with a parade at 11:00 a.m. followed by a day filled with arts and crafts vendors, food vendors, rides and rock wall (free to attendee') and a stage filled with performers (11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.). Closing out the day's events will be Swing Shift performing on stage from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Food vendors will be present for the evening. Bring your lawn chairs and help us celebrate all that Blythe has to offer.

The festival opens at 10:00 a.m. with live music from the Toe-tappin' music stage on Second St and fun stuff for kids. On the Great Lawn, the Marketplace is full of shopping opportunities: seasonal locally grown (and produced) food products and a wide variety of handcrafted wares made by talented regional artists. Too hungry to wait for chili sampling? Our food vendors will be ready and waiting to serve you delicious festival food starting at 10:00 a.m. on Second St.
Sampling wristbands go on sale at two gates beginning at 12:00 noon–get in line early! There are two wristband tents. Bring cash! No wristband pre-sales. $5 gets you a sampling wristband, a spoon, and a People’s Choice ballot...that's right, you help decide the winners for the coveted People's Choice Chili awards!
