The Steffen Thomas Museum of Art is open Tuesday-Saturday, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. - Historic HeartlandArt Exhibit
Developed in collaboration with the Georgia Writers Museum, the upcoming will feature the art of painter Raven Waters, potter Senora Lynch (Haliwa-Saponi Tribe) and Steffen Thomas.
This environmentally-focused exhibition will explore, with artists and writers and audience, our place in the natural world: do we exist as a part of nature? Or outside of nature, experiencing the environment as a tourist or a consumer?
The title is a play on the internet phrase “touch grass” or “go touch some grass” that is said as a criticism to someone that they have been online too much and are disconnected from reality/the real world.
The museum is open Tuesday-Friday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

No creature looms larger over the savanna than the African elephant, and you’ll agree when you come face-to-trunk with one at Zoo Atlanta! Meet Tara or Kelly while learning why they are such important ambassadors for their species.
During this Wild Encounter experience, you will learn about elephants with a Zoo Educator before heading behind the scenes to meet up with members of the Elephant Care Team and find out more about elephant care at the Zoo. Of course, no Elephant Wild Encounter would be complete without the opportunity to hand-feed one of the “girls” an afternoon snack.
- Meet at the Zambezi Elephant Center 15 minutes before the Wild Encounter.

We welcome you to the wild world of warthogs! Come explore what it takes to care for these charismatic creatures and their neighbors in the African Savanna.
Do warthogs really have warts? Get an up-close look and see! Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at Zoo Atlanta’s African Savanna and give the warthogs a favorite treat. You’ll also meet members of the Zoo’s Animal Care Team and find out what goes into the care of warthogs and other savanna animals.
- Meet outside the warthog habitat near the SweetWater Beer Garden 15 minutes (at 12:45) before the Wild Encounter to check in.
- Please note that availability is limited for all Wild Encounters.
- This encounter is not ADA accessible.
- All guests must wear closed-toed shoes on this encounter.

Learn about the positive reinforcement training process of becoming an animal artist. See firsthand the ways this enrichment activity fits into high standards of care for animals at the Zoo when you meet a goat or sheep and see their art creation in action. Zoo Atlanta’s ZooDunit Mystery Series is a memorable social event designed especially for adults ages 18+. Join us to animate your nightlife with this unique adventure!
Test your crime solving skills as you explore the Zoo after-hours on a guided tour. You will investigate a crime set in the Zoo while learning about Zoo Atlanta’s conservation and research efforts. Your detective team will uncover clues, maps, suspect files, and witness statements to help solve a mystery. But, do you have the koalafications? Can you crack the case? Find out who’s lion.
Bring your friends and make new ones. Toucan play, or bring the whole herd. Don’t miss this wild evening at the Zoo!
SweetWater Beer Garden, located inside Zoo Atlanta and featuring taps from Atlanta’s hometown craft brewery, will offer beer for purchase for guests ages 21+ with a valid ID.

Georgia's Official Musical Theatre, Peach State Summer Theatre presents three musicals in rotating repertory each summer.
The PSST company consists of theatre artists from across the country, including some with a Valdosta State University affiliation.
Summer 2025 is the 36th season of professional musical theatre produced by Valdosta State University.
The 2025 season will present "A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline," "Little Shop of Horrors" and "The Wizard of Oz."

Evans Market is a weekly Saturday market made up of local artisans, farmers, producers, and vendors. The Market will be held in the Market (1005 Market St.) in Evans on Saturdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in the spring and fall.
The Spring Evans Market kicks off on Saturday, March 15, and will continue through June 28. (There will be no Evans Market on Saturday, April 12 or Saturday, April 19.)
